Bourbon is one of the most famous American Whiskies given its rich heritage, color, and taste. Bourbon can only be called Bourbon after only touching the wood of an American Oak barrel. However, most of the clients are looking for Straight Bourbon, which is aged a minimum of two years.

What is Bourbon Whiskey?

Due to bourbon not having a specified minimum age duration, many different tastes may evolve. Bourbon whiskey is often associated with corn, but some bourbons may also contain a larger number of different grains such as rye. This creates a vast opportunity to create something entirely unique with the bourbon options we can supply.

Why are all bourbons whiskies, but not all whiskies are bourbons?

The first thing that many people notice is a tiny difference in the spelling of American whiskey. Bourbon whiskey is also American, and therefore has an extra “e” in the word whiskey, contrary to the spelling of its Scotch counterpart. Besides spelling, there are other requirements that bourbon whiskey must meet to call itself a bourbon whiskey. First, the whiskey must be produced in America, made from 51% corn, and be aged in new charred oak barrels. Bourbon whiskey tends to have a mix of sweet and smokey tasting notes, which make for a well-balanced beverage.
