Calvados Brandy is typically consumed between long meals to refreshen the palette and ignite the appetite.

This fruit-based French Brandy can be made from 200 different apple or pear varieties. The apples or pears are fermented into a dry cider. Like Cognac, Calvados is double distilled in alembic stills to eau devie and then aged in oak barrels for a minimum of two years. Many distillers will age the Calvados longer than two years to create an even smoother beverage.

As the Calvados Brandy ages, it will become a golden, dark brown, or mahogany like dependent on the input when fermented. Calvados Brandy has a delicate flavor of either dried apricots or aged apple with notes of nut, chocolate, and butterscotch.
